Islands Blackball Association

The Association shall be named as :
Islands Blackball Association ( Founded 2007 ).
The Association will organise an annual small island/peninsula Blackball Rules Pool Championship, at a central venue, with relatively easy access for participants.
In future, the I.B.A. could represent the voice of the small islands in the world of Blackball Pool, and have a stronger influence when deciding major changes in the future of our sport.  Furthermore, the I.B.A., with a selection from all the islands, could even play a testimonial match against any of the Big Pool Nations, and maybe WIN!......

The founder members and governing body at this initial stage are Isle of Man, Gibraltar and Shetland.  It is envisaged to invite in the very near future, islands or small nations with limited possibilities, of having players of a professional status.  These other nations could very well be nations like e.g.  :  Orkneys, Guernsey, Jersey etc. etc.

Eligible players to participate in any I.B.A. event will be monitored and selected at the discretion of the governing committee of that particular nation, and will ONLY be able to participate under the following criteria :

• Player must be a current resident or full-time worker of that particular nation
• Player must be a current up-to-date member of the nation’s pool association
• Player does not have to be of origin nature of that nation
• Player of origin nature, but not a current player of that nation’s Pool League shall be deemed INELIGIBLE for participation in any I.B.A. event.

It is up to the sportsmanship and trust, of the participating nations, that  any player who does not fall under the I.B.A.’s criteria MUST NOT take part in any of its tournaments.
